Shorebirds Tour Option A- A thirty minute drive from Georgetown along the coast, where we will begin birding along the Seawalls of the Ann’s Grove mudflats. This is one of the few areas where large populations of the shorebirds can be easily along the Coast. Emerging mangroves provides a rich food source for birds on these mudflats. Its a beautiful area for birders and non-birders to explore. Species such as the Scarlet Ibis, Clappers Rail, Greater Yellow Legs, Plovers, Yellow-crowned Night Heron, Western Sandpipers and other fascinating birds such as the Rufous-crab Hawk can be seen here. Option B- Experience a relaxing drift along the Demerara River, once the tide is out it exposes the mudflats which normally host feeding grounds. This tour offers fantastic birding amidst the magnificent scenery of the powerful Demerara River which also hosts the 1. 5 mile floating Harbour Bridge. The tour can either be done by boat or walking along the mudflats Species such as the Rufous crab Hawk, Scarlet Ibis, Magnificent Frigatebirds , Little Blue Herons and Tri-coloured Herons are regular sights here.
